OUR STORY

As we launch the Townhomes News Website, the primary volunteer contributors are:
  • Brian Morris
  • Debbie Garrison
  • Sharon Ball
We hope more will join our effort as time goes on.
WRITTEN 10-29-2024 As many of you know, Brian, Debbie, and Sharon were officers on the Camarillo Springs Palmeras Townhomes Board of Directors from years 2020 through 2021. We were elected on our commitment to reduce costs, better manage the HOA's assets/income, and obtain efficiency in those endeavors. We saved over $15,000 dollars in operating costs by requiring 3-bids for all expenditures over $1,000. In the two years we were in office we reduced the monthly dues by $12 per month per home. In the four previous years (2016 through 2019) and under the same board executives appointed in 2022, the dues rose $60 per month per home. In the last three years it's been even worse In January of 2025 our dues will be $706.00 per month (including $233/mo. assessment). This Board of Directors executives are the architects of the swift increase in monthly dues during the years of 2016 through 2019 and 2023 to 2025. We were hopeful the 2022 current board would adopt sound business principles clearing the way for costs to stabilize, but they did not. Why did four out of the five Board of Directors (Debbie Garrison, Brian Morris, Sharon Ball, and Sony Nguyen) decide not to run again for the 2022 election year? 02 (townhomes election statement) in the Documents Library was e-mailed to the Townhomes HOA last fall and explains why. In short, we felt we had obtained the goals we set, and more neighbors should be able to continue the work. Of course, there were other contributors to our making the decision, but we all felt it was time to return to our busy lives. We have many other significant responsibilities demanding our time. Although the COVID-19 restrictions greatly affected our completing our bucket list, it was an extreme pleasure to serve and reverse the operating cost trends of The Townhomes. We left with all maintenance addressed and funded and still with our finances sound. Why did the 2020 - 2021 Board of Directors publish TOWNHOMES NEWS.COM? We are aware of the close relationship between the current Townhomes Board President and CPM management company, so we felt it necessary to illuminate the Board of Directors' activities. The information on Nextdoor has always been monitored and controlled by bias Leads (see Letters & Blogs-Chapter One) so we felt the insertion of transparency and bright lights on incompetency and collusion were required. Our neighborhood deserve access to an information source free from deception and exclusion such as www.townhomesnews.com.
